- Click Enable motion test and allow motion access.
- Tilt the device and watch the orientation values and level indicator.
- Shake the device gently and see the movement counter increase.
- Click Stop to remove the listeners and end the test.

The page listens for devicemotion and deviceorientation events. It derives a movement magnitude from accelerationIncludingGravity, counts sharp changes as shake events, and shows orientation angles where available.
Event availability and units differ by platform. iOS requires a permission request from a user gesture, and many desktops expose no motion sensors at all. Shake detection is a simple threshold and is not a calibrated measurement.

No sensor events arrive
Use a mobile device over HTTPS. Check that motion access is allowed for the site.
Shake is not counted
Shake more firmly or lower the threshold if the page offers one. Gentle movement may stay below the threshold.
Orientation is missing but motion works
Some devices expose one event type but not the other. The status row shows what was received.
Values freeze
Background tabs and power saving can pause sensors. Keep the page visible and the screen on.
