Cookiebeleid
Last updated: 6 November 2026. This page explains the storage used by Device Check and its advertising providers.
1. Session cookie
We set a cookie named dtl_session when you submit a form. It stores a CSRF token and a short rate-limit timestamp so the server can protect forms against cross-site request forgery and accidental duplicate submissions. It is HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Lax, and is marked Secure when the site is served over HTTPS. It expires when your browser session ends.
2. Theme preference
Your light or dark theme choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key dtl-theme. It is used only to render the theme you selected and is not sent to the server.
Your language choice is stored in a first-party cookie named dtl_lang. It contains only the selected language code and is used to return you to the same language on your next visit. It is not used for advertising or analytics.
3. Advertising cookies and technologies
This site uses Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and, where allowed by your choices and publisher settings, personalized advertising. Non-personalized ads may also use storage for frequency capping and aggregated reporting. These providers may process information such as IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, referral information and ad interactions. Learn more in Google’s explanation of partner-site data use. You can manage personalization through My Ad Center or Google Ads Settings, and manage cookies through your browser. In jurisdictions where consent is required, the site operator must configure and publish the appropriate consent message in AdSense Privacy & messaging before consent-dependent advertising technologies are used.
4. Media and test data
Camera, microphone, screen recordings, sensor readings and test results are not stored in cookies or uploaded by default. Test recordings remain in browser memory until you download them or leave the page.
5. Third-party content
If you open an optional map preview, OpenStreetMap may set its own cookies or receive your request. Opening a decoded QR link or any external link may also cause the destination site to set cookies under its own policy.
6. Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site data through your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie may prevent contact and suggestion forms from submitting. Clearing localStorage resets the theme preference.
