Read permissions—
Permission states are controlled by your browser and operating system. A “prompt” state means no decision has been recorded yet. Revoke access from the browser site settings if needed.

How to use this tool

  1. Click Read permission states.
  2. Review granted, denied, prompt, or unsupported values.
  3. Use the optional live checks only if you want to trigger a browser prompt.
  4. Change blocked permissions in the browser site settings and reload.

Technical explanation

The Permissions API exposes some permission states by name. Support varies by browser and permission. Camera and microphone states may be hidden until the page has requested them at least once.

A prompt state means the browser has not decided yet. The page cannot grant permission on your behalf and cannot bypass a blocked state.

Troubleshooting

States show unsupported

The browser may not implement Permissions.query for that name.

Camera still shows prompt after granting

Some browsers do not expose media permission state until a stream is opened.

A permission is blocked

Use the browser site settings to reset it.

Location is not available

Check system location services and the secure-context requirement.
