GPU Stress Test

Render a WebGL workload, measure frame rate, detect context loss, and stop cleanly at any time.

Privacy: All rendering happens locally. No graphics data is uploaded.

Test interface

Your browser may ask for permission after you press Start.
GPU stress can raise temperatures and power use. Stop if the device becomes hot, the fan becomes very loud or the display behaves abnormally.
Press Start to begin.

This workload exercises the browser graphics pipeline. It is not a hardware benchmark and cannot report GPU model, thermals or clock speed reliably.

How to use this tool

  1. Click Start GPU test with the canvas visible.
  2. Choose ramp-up or sustained mode and watch the frame-rate estimate.
  3. Stop the test if the display stutters, the fan rises sharply, or the device becomes hot.
  4. Reload the page if the WebGL context is lost.

Technical explanation

The test uses WebGL shaders and draw calls to load the graphics pipeline. requestAnimationFrame timing provides an approximate frame rate. A webglcontextlost event is surfaced as an error state.

Browser graphics performance differs from native GPU benchmarks because of driver limits, browser compositing, power saving, and thermal policy. Do not treat the result as a certified GPU score.

Troubleshooting

WebGL is unavailable

Enable hardware acceleration in the browser and update the graphics driver.

Context lost

The browser or driver reset the GPU context. Reduce the workload and try again.

Frame rate is capped

VSync, browser compositing, and power settings can cap the rate.

Device becomes hot

Stop immediately and allow cooling. Mobile GPUs may throttle aggressively.
